Festival in Clayton
The fourth annual Community Summer Festival is scheduled from noon till 5 p.m. Saturday, July 26, on the front lawn of Kingdom Builders Fellowship, 130 Clayton Commerce, Clayton. The festival will feature outdoor sports, games, food, entertainment, horse rides, a dunking booth, an inflatable slide and a moonwalk. All events and food are free. Music for lunch
The next Music for the Lunch Bunch performance is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at First Presbyterian Church at the corner of Third and Church streets in Smithfield. Dara Edwards will play the piano, and Greg Honeycutt will sing. Admission is free.

Edwards earned a bachelor's degree in piano performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1980. A piano teacher in the Clayton area for 28 years, she has a studio in the Riverwood Cultural Arts Center. In addition to teaching, Edwards is music director at White Oak Baptist Church in the Archer Lodge community.

Honeycutt, a baritone and Benson-area resident, earned his bachelor's degree in music education and his master's degree in voice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been a recitalist in Campbell University's Artist Performance Series, the Wake Tech Fine Arts Series and Johnston County's Music for the Lunch Bunch series.

In addition, Honeycutt has played principal roles in productions by Capital Opera Raleigh, the Benson Little Theatre and the Neuse Little Theater. He serves on the faculty of Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, where he teaches music appreciation and conducts the Wake Tech Main Campus Chorus and Choral Ensemble. Honeycutt also teaches voice at Johnston Community College in Smithfield.

Panos Messis of Cary will accompany Honeycutt on piano.

Art camp for kids
The Selma Parks and Recreation Department and Creation Station are offering an art camp for children ages 5-12. The camp will meet from 1:30 till 3:30 p.m. July 28-31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 4. To learn more, call Parks and Recreation at 975-1411.

Dance benefits Wounded Warriors
A dance to benefit the Wounded Warrior program of Banner Unit 109 of the American Legion Auxiliary is scheduled from 7:30 till 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at the American Legion Building at 605 N. Wall St. in Benson. The cost will be $7 per person. Music will be provided by Milton's Classic Collections band.

Music in Clayton
The Town Square Concert Series in Clayton will continue Thursday, July 24, with the Craig Woolard Band. The free concert is scheduled from 7 till 9 p.m. at the corner of Main and O'Neil streets. Refreshments, including soft drinks, beer and wine, will be available. For more information, call 553-1545.

Sundown in Benson
The next Sundown in Downtown is scheduled from 5:30 till 9 p.m. Thursday, July 24, in the Singing Grove on Main Street in downtown Benson. Dixie Driver will perform. For more information, call 894-3825.

Disco in Smithfield
Disco Night is scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at American Legion Post 270, 805 Martin St., Smithfield. The Legionnaires will raffle a $50 gas certificate.

Country Tonight
The next Country Tonight music show is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Ice House Theatre, 113 N. Webb St., Selma. Eric Strickland and the Nashville Rash Band will perform, along with comedian Tater Roads. General admission is $10, and the doors open at 7 p.m. For reserved seating, which is $12, call (252) 237-6199.
